Concept

A live-performance medley blending the timeless hits of ABBA and Boney M, reimagined by The CopyCats — one of Delhi’s most versatile and genre-spanning live bands. The project celebrates disco nostalgia through vibrant arrangements, soulful harmonies, and a full brass and string ensemble captured in an intimate live setting.

Story & Approach

Shot live at The Piano Man Eldeco Centre, the visual approach was designed to echo the medley’s lively, feel-good energy — colorful, rhythmic, and authentic. We ran a four-camera setup:

• A Sony A7 IV locked off on tripod for a master wide of the full band,

• A Nikon Z6 III on a DJI RS2 gimbal for dynamic motion shots,

• A Sony FX3 for tight details and mid-range coverage, and

• My BMPCC 6K handheld rig for close, kinetic shots that brought the viewer into the performance.

During grading, I used Dehancer to create a warm, film-like vintage look and unify the multi-camera footage — balancing color science between the Sony, Nikon, and Blackmagic sources was challenging but ultimately rewarding, delivering a cohesive, nostalgic tone true to the 70s spirit of ABBA and Boney M.
