Concept

A playful fusion of Girls Like To Swing and Eena Meena Dika by The CopyCats, featuring Nisa Shetty. The idea was to travel back in time — to the roaring 1920s — capturing the glitz, glamour, and swing energy of the era through performance, choreography, and design.

Story & Approach

Shot on a three-camera setup — my BMPCC 6K locked off on tripod for wides, a Sony FX3 and Nikon Z6 III handheld for movement and performance coverage — the piece was crafted to feel like a vintage music show from a bygone decade.

The set design featured gold drapes, flapper dresses, and live instrumentation, blending visual style with musical authenticity. During color grading, I leaned into a warm, filmic tone using subtle halation and grain to create a Golden Age of Swing aesthetic — faded highlights, soft contrast, and vintage color separation.

The final look captures the elegance and joy of classic swing, with modern precision behind the lens.
